Mulki, May 20: A twelve year old boy died and four others sustained injuries after a mini bus collided with a lorry in front of Bappanadu temple here on Sunday night, May 20.

The deceased boy has been identified as Rakshith Kumar (12), a resident of Menasagi village in Rona taluk in Gadag district.

Mutthu, working as a watchman in an apartment near Bappanadu was waiting for bus infront of Bappanadu temple along with his family. A mini bus collided with a lorry in front of them. The lorry after losing control hit mother and two children. As a result boy died on the spot.

Bus driver and the passengers sustained injuries in the incident. Police visited the spot and inspected.

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has temporarily stayed an order by the Karnataka High Court to set aside the election of KY Nanjegowda, Congress legislator from Malur constituency in Kolar district, in 2023.

The two-judge bench of Justices Vikram Nath and Sandeep Mehta has directed the Election Commission of India (ECI) to hold a recount of the constituency votes and submit the report on the outcome in a sealed cover, LiveLaw has reported.

The bench also stated that the result of the recount may not be made public without the permission of the Supreme Court.
