Chitrapura pontiff Sri Vidyavallabhartirtha Swamiji passes away
Manglauru, Jan 24: The pontiff of Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple, Chitrapura Mutt, Sri Vidyavallabhartirtha Swamiji (80) passed away on Wednesday evening. He was being treated following kidney problems at a private hospital in Mangaluru.
Sri Vidyavallabhartirtha Swamiji was the 18th pontiff to the mutt. He had taken over the charge from the 17th pontiff Vidyapoorna Swamiji in 1962.
