Congress announces Raju Poojary as MLC candidate for by-polls
Mangaluru: The Congress party on Wednesday announced Raju Poojary as its DK and Udupi local body candidate for the upcoming by-election to the Legislative Council. All India Congress Committee President Mallikarjun Kharge released an official statement confirming Raju Poojary’s candidacy.
The Dakshina Kannada and Udupi Local Authorities’ Constituency seat became vacant following the resignation of BJP leader Kota Srinivasa Poojary. The by-election is scheduled for October 21.

Several names, including Bhujanga Shetty, Hariprasad Rai, Dr. Raju, and Uday Kumar Shetty Muniyalu, were considered for the seat of the Dakshina Kannada Local Bodies. Ultimately, the Congress party finalized Raju Poojary of Byndoor to contest in the by-election.

Leh-bound SpiceJet plane faces engine issue; returns to national capital
New Delhi (PTI): A Leh-bound SpiceJet aircraft returned to the national capital due to an engine issue on Tuesday morning, according to a source.
There were around 150 people on board the Boeing 737 aircraft that was operating the flight SG121, the source added.
When contacted, a SpiceJet spokesperson said a flight operating from Delhi to Leh on Tuesday returned to Delhi after experiencing a technical issue.
"The aircraft landed safely in Delhi, and all passengers were disembarked normally," the spokesperson said in a statement.
The source said the aircraft suffered an engine issue.
