Mangaluru: The Health Department has temporarily closed the Flaunt Cosmetic Surgery and Hair Transplant Clinic at Bendoorwell, Kankanady, following the death of a young man during a cosmetic procedure. The closure was ordered by D.K. District Health and Family Welfare Officer, Dr. H.R. Thimmaiah, on the directives of District Collector Mullai Mugilan.

The incident involved Muhammad Mazin, a resident of Akkarekere, Ullala, who had visited the clinic for a minor cosmetic surgery. The 30-year-old had gone to Flaunt Clinic on Saturday morning to have a small cyst removed from the left side of his chest. However, according to the family, Mazin died during the procedure due to alleged negligence in administering anesthesia.

In response to the family's serious allegations, the Health Department filed a suo-moto case. The family claims that improper anesthesia administration before the surgery was the primary cause of Mazin's death.
