Karnataka: Couple in Mudigere commits suicide as family oppose marriage
Chikkamagaluru: A young couple who attempted suicide on Monday after their families disapproved their wedding proposal while opposing their relationship, breathed their last on Wednesday morning in hospital at Mangaluru.
The deceased have been identified as Nutan (25) a resident of Mudigere and Apoorva (22) a resident of Kottegehara.
The couple had on Monday consumed poison in an attempt to end their lives. They were shifted to a private hospital in Mangaluru for treatment following the incident. Failing to respond to the treatment both of them breathed their last on Wednesday morning here.
According to the reports the couple got married against the will of their families and tried to convince their families on Monday. Failing in their attempt to get nod of their families the couple consumed poison.

Fire breaks out at shopping mall in Hyderabad, no injuries
Hyderabad (PTI): A fire broke out at a shopping mall in Jubilee Hills area here on Thursday, though no one was injured in the incident, police and Fire department officials said.
The fire started at around 11.20 AM in the building, housing a saree showroom and other garment outlets, where renovation work was going on, they said, adding five workers, who were inside were brought out.
Three fire tenders were pressed into service and the blaze was extinguished. TV visuals showed flames erupting and thick smoke emanating from the exterior of the building.
"The building was vacant and there was no material inside. The fire has been brought under control. No one was injured in the incident," a fire department official said.
The exact cause of the blaze was under investigation, he said.
