COVID-19: Udupi Jamia Masjid temporarily stops congregational prayers; urges people to pray at home
Udupi: The Udupi Jamia Masjid on Wednesday restricted entry to the general public at its premises and has called off all the congregational prayers at the masjid in the wake of new guidelines issued by the District Administration to control the spread of Coronavirus in the District.
The move came in the wake of the government’s recent order restricting religious gatherings to only 20 people.
The mosque administration has urged people to offer prayers at home and to co-operate with the masjid administration in implementing the decision.

Body of man in Kalaburagi found hanging in his field; cause of death unknown
Kalaburagi: A man was found dead, with his body seen hanging, in his own field in Hulasaguda village of Kalagi taluk on Saturday morning. The cause for death is unknown as yet.
The deceased, identified as Revanasiddhappa Shettappa (26), is learned to have been a resident of Hulasaguda village.
Ratkal Police Sub-inspector Sheela Devi reportedly visited the spot where the man’s body was found and inspected it.
Police have registered a case in this regard and are probing the death of the Shettappa.
