Mangaluru: Police on Wednesday took one person in custody in connection with the death threat to now transferred DK Deputy Commissioner Sindhu B Rupesh.

The Moodbidri Police after filing Suo-motto case has taken Ranjith, a resident of Bajpe into custody in  connection with the case.

Threatening to kill, a message was sent in a WhatsApp group against the DC on Monday night after the officer had warned of legal action against those assaulting or attacking cattle transporting traders and vehicles. 

She had urged people to pass information about illegal cattle transport to concerned police station and not take law into their hands by attacking traders or vehicles transporting cattle.

On Tuesday afternoon, Sindhu Rupesh was transferred and Dr.Rajendra KV was named as the new DC of Dakshina Kannada.
