Mangaluru: Deputy Commissioner Mullai Mugilan conducted a thorough inspection at the SSLC examination centres of Capitanio School in Mangaluru on Wednesday. The visit aimed to oversee the smooth conduct of the SSLC examinations, with 432 students taking the exam in 19 centres within the Mangaluru South constituency.

During the inspection, the Deputy Commissioner observed the CCTV operations within the examination centre and received updates from the centre’s head regarding the availability of essential facilities such as drinking water for the students. He also suggested measures to prevent any potential lapses in the exam process.

Accompanying the Deputy Commissioner were Venkatesh Patagar, Deputy Director of the Public Education Department, Venkatesh Naik, Nodal Officer of SSLC Examination, the Head of the Examination Centre, and the School Headmistress, Sister Leena D'Souza.

Puttur: A case has been registered at the local rural police station regarding the disappearance of a youth from the Keremule area of Kedambadi village in the taluk.

The missing individual, identified as Diwakara (38), is the son of Dr. Sankappa Pujari, a resident of Keremule. Diwakara, employed as a kitchen helper, reportedly left his residence on August 27 and has not returned since.

His uncle, Sitaram Pujari, has lodged a complaint with the rural police station, highlighting the additional concern that Diwakara's mobile phone has been switched off.
