Bantwal: The founder president of the B.A. group Dr. B. Ahmed Haji Mohiuddin has been honored with the Beary Chamber of Commerce & Industry (BCCI)'s "Lifetime Achievement Award" during the Beary Mela - 2019, which is being held at the Town Hall here.
About Dr. B. Ahmad Haji Mohiuddin:
Dr. B. Ahmad Haji was born on June 18, 1933 to Haji Mohiuddin Cheyyabba and Mariyammara in the Mangaluru port.
He perused the basic education at Badriya Education Institute and Ganapati High School in Mangaluru and graduated with a bachelor degree in Commerce from Mangaluru Government College.
As a successful businessman:
In 1964, he started a sawmill 20 Km far from Mangaluru. Later in 1975, Fatima Timbers, Haji Timbers Complex in 1978, Haji Timbers Industries in 1984, and established BA Shipping in d in 1986 BA Shifting was established.

Karnataka govt to spend Rs 2,500 cr to upgrade 500 government schools
Bengaluru, Nov 28: The Karnataka Cabinet on Thursday decided to upgrade 500 government schools as Karnataka Public Schools at an outlay of Rs 2,500 crore in four years.
For the purpose, the state government would borrow Rs 2,000 crore from the Asian Development Bank and contribute Rs 500 crore.
This project will be taken up from July 2025 to June 2029.
According to the Karnataka Law and Parliamentary Affairs Minister H K Patil, there are 308 Karnataka Public Schools functioning in 204 Taluks of the state.
