Dr. P S Harsha is the new Mangaluru Police Commissioner, Arunaansh Giri new DCP
Mangaluru: The state government on Monday appointed Dr. P S Harsha as the new Police Commissioner of Mangaluru Police while also posting Arunaansh Giri as the DCP Law and Order.
Sandeep Patil, who was serving as the Police Commissioner in Mangaluru was recently transferred as the joint commissioner of Bengaluru, Crime.
Harsha, a 2004 batch IPS Officer has earlier served as Director of Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation, Department of Information and Public Relations, DIG Prison, Director Vigilance and Security KSRTC among others.
Arunaansh who was serving as the Dy.SP of Karkala will take charge as the DCP Law and Order. Hanumantharaya, is now transferred as SP of Davangere District.

At least three people killed in gas cylinder explosion in Andhra Pradesh
Puttaparthi (Andhra Pradesh) (PTI): At least three people were killed in a gas cylinder explosion in Sri Sathyasai district of Andhra Pradesh, on Wednesday, an official said.
A powerful explosion led to the demolition of two houses at Kammaravaripalli village, according to Superintendent of Police S Satish.
"At least three people died when a gas cylinder exploded in a house at Kammaravaripalli village in Kadiri mandal at around 12.30 pm,” Satish told PTI.
He said that the workers from Telangana were living in that house where the explosion occurred.
