Bantwala, May 2: Driver was killed and cleaner sustained injuries when their stone transporting lorry plunged into a valley when the driver lost control over the lorry at Kalpane near Pachchinadka in Bantwala taluk on Wednesday night.

The deceased is identified as Ashraf (35) of Tannirupantha. Cleaner Abdul Kareem of Kudradka sustained injuries and was admitted a private hospital in Mangaluru. The stone-ladden lorry was on its way towards BC Road and plunged into the valley as the driver lost the control over the vehicle, according Bantwala police.
