Eight injured as private buses collide head-on in BC Road
Bantwal: Eight people, including the drivers, were injured in a head-on collision between two private buses on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru highway near the Nethravathi Bridge in BC Road on Saturday morning.
Buses of the Celiena Contract Carriage and the Sharada bus service of Sajipa route collided on the national highway. The identities of the injured passengers are yet to be confirmed, said sources.
As an impact of the accident, a car that was following one of the buses on the route hit the bus in front, but there was no fatality.
The movement of traffic on the national highway, however, affected for some time, due to the collision.

Youth drowns in Durga falls in Karkala
Udupi (Karnataka), Nov 28: A 19-year-old boy drowned on Thursday while bathing in Durga falls near Karkala, police said.
According to police, a group of seven college students arrived at the falls and were taking bath.
In the afternoon, Joyal Dias slipped and fell into the deep gorge while trying to get into the water to take bath.
When Karkala rural police reached the location, they launched a search. After much effort, they were able to locate and retrieve the body.
Further investigation is on, police said.
