Udupi: The election process for Udupi Municipality that is going on at the government school in Kodavooru was halted for around one-and-a-half hour when the EVM went down.
The polling process was started at 7 am, and 116 people cast their votes. At around 9.15 am, when the 117th voter came to cast a vote, a button on the EVM did not work. Following which, the voters and polling officers came forward to repair it, but in vain.
The voters visited the polling booth early this morning so that they could exercise their franchise and get back to work. Following the incident, the voters expressed intense anger over the negligence of the authorities. They have demanded to extend the voting time by one hour in the evening. Most of the voters returned without voting.
In the same way, an EVM had reportedly gone down at Karamballi. Due to which the process was delayed by half-an-hour, the local resources said.

Washington (AP): US President Donald Trump said Hamas is weakened, but he's hardly certain that the temporary truce between Israel and Hamas will hold.
“I'm not confident,” Trump told reporters. “That's not our war. It's their war.”
He said that his administration “might” help rebuild Gaza, which he compared to a “massive demolition site.”
“Some beautiful things could be done with it,” said Trump, the real estate developer turned commander in chief, noting the territory's coastline and “phenomenal” weather and location. “Some fantastic things could be done with Gaza. Some beautiful things could be done with Gaza.”
