Mangaluru: The Leading Kannada news website varthabharati.in website had published the news of declaring a holiday for schools and colleges in Udupi district on July 24 in view of heavy rains. But some miscreants were spreading false news using the screen shot of the website after altering the date as July 25. Now, Varthabharati has decided to take legal action against them.

Recently, Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts received heavy rains due to which the Udupi district administration had declared holiday on July 24 and Dakshina Kannada district administration had declared holiday on July 23. 

But those news were fabricated and circulated on social media. Against this, the Varthabharati had appealed the public not to believe such rumours.

Now, Varthabharati has decided to lodge a complaint against those who misused the website screenshot and spread rumours.

Cuttack (PTI): Hardik Pandya smashed a sparkling unbeaten 28-ball 59 to lift India to 175 for six against South Africa in the first T20I here on Tuesday.

Returning to international cricket after recovering from quadricep injury, Pandya smashed six fours and four maximums to provide the much-needed impetus in the fag end of the innings after India were 78 for 4 in 12th over.

Tilak Varma (26) and Axar Patel (23) also chipped in with useful contributions after SA asked India to take first strike.

SA managed to take wickets early on with Lungi Ngidi (3/31) and Lutho Sipamla (2/38) sharing five wickets before Pandya produced a superb innings.
