Father of the rank holder is van driver in her college
Udupi,May 1: Sathyashree Rao, a student of Sri Venkataramana PU College from Kundapur in Udupi district has topped the Science stream in the district.
Her father Ramesh Rao works as a school van driver at the same institution.
Sathyashree has got 593 out of 600 marks. Her combination of subjects is Physics, Commerce, Mathematics and Computer Science.
She said “Routinely I used to study about two to three hours. During the exam holidays I used to study from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. But I did not pressure myself.”

8 killed in mishap at firecracker manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh
Visakhapatnam, Apr 13 (PTI): Eight people, including two women, were killed and seven others injured in a fire accident at a firecracker manufacturing unit in Anakapalli district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday.
Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu expressed shock over the incident.
“Eight people including two women died and seven others were injured in the fire accident,” Home Minister V Anitha told PTI.
The injured are being shifted to hospitals here, she said adding details are awaited.
The CM directed Anitha and district officials to ensure better medical care to the injured, an official release said.
