Fire at Harsha store godown in Puttur destroys appliances worth lakhs of rupees
Puttur: A fire broke out early morning on Tuesday at the godown of Harsha home appliance store at Darbe in Puttur and appliances worth several lakhs of rupees are learned to have been destroyed in the fire accident.
The fire brigade rushed to the godown of the store with its tenders on being informed of the fire there and the team successfully extinguished the flames.

The Puttur Town Police also visited the godown of Harsha and are conducting an inspection in relation to the incident.

CPI stalwart Nallakannu dead
Chennai (PTI): Veteran leader of the CPI, R Nallakannu died here on Wednesday, the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital said.
He was aged about 101, party sources said.
A hospital bulletin said, despite intensive care, he passed away at 1.55 PM on February 25, 2026 following failure of all vital organs.
