Bhatkal: Four fishermen went missing after their boat sunk off the shores of Bhatkal on Wednesday, while two others have been rescued and are being treated at the government hospital.
The group is said to have gone out into the sea in a fishing boat from Alvekodi on Wednesday afternoon, but their boat was caught amid the forceful waves and sunk. Four of the fishermen, Ramakrishna Mogera, Satish Mogera, Ganesh Mogera and Nischith Mogera are learned to be missing.
Coastal Security Police Sub-inspector Veena Chitrapura got the two rescued men to the Bhatkal Government Hospital in the official vehicle.

Jamtara (Jharkhand) (PTI): A man was shot dead by three unidentified bike-borne armed miscreants in Jharkhand’s Jamtara district on Sunday, police said.
The incident took place at Dharampur village within Narainpur police station limits when the victim, identified as Furkan Ansari, a resident of the same village, had gone out for his morning tea at a stall around 8.15 am, they said.
Narainpur OC Murad Hasan said, "The victim's body was handed over to his family members after post-mortem examination at Sadar Hospital."
Police have launched an investigation into the matter, the OC said.
