Mangaluru: HIF INDIA is undertaking Project Ashiyana to build new houses for the poor and needy people and the 28th house has been handed over on Friday, February 24, to a widow beneficiary in Nelyadi, Kadaba taluk.

Maulana Tayyab, Khateeb of Ehsan Masjid, who participated as the chief guest in the program, said that the organization was able to build 28 houses with devotion and sincere, selfless service.

Another chief guest, former President of Badria Juma Masjid Mata, Uppinangadi M. B. Nazir Mata said that HIF INDIA's social activities such as construction of houses for the homeless, medical assistance, scholarship for poor students and construction of masjids are all model works that should be done by the organizations in every ‘mohalla’ and Masjids. He wished that more social programs would be conducted by HIF, which are indeed commendable activities.

The guests handed over the house key and one month ration to the beneficiary.

HIF INDIA Secretary Adil Parvez presided over the program. He informed that the work of the 29th and 30th house is in progress and the houses will be handed over to the beneficiaries very soon.

Shakif Adil Parvez recited the verses from Qur'an. Ausaf Hussain, Coordinator of the HIF Project Ashiyana, convened the program and gave the vote of thanks.

Abdul Rahiman, President of Jalaliya Juma Masjid, was present.

Faridabad (PTI): A student of class 8 here was allegedly sexually assaulted for several days by two of his classmates and a student of class 10, police said on Saturday.

Based on a complaint of the victim's father, police have registered a case against the three juveniles under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act at Saran Police Station.

According to police, the 12-year-old boy, studying in a government school, was leaving the premises to go home when he was lured by two of his classmates and another student of class 10 to the school bathroom, where they sexually assaulted him.

Following this, the accused students allegedly assaulted him for several days.

The boy's father noticed changes in his son's behaviour and asked him about it. He narrated his ordeal to the father who then approached the police.

Two of the accused students live in the same village as the victim, police said.

A senior police officer said, "We have initiated the necessary legal procedures. Counselling is being provided to the victim, and the entire matter is being investigated seriously. Further action will be taken based on the investigation."
