Mangaluru: Highland Islamic Forum in association with Simrah Foundation organised an event themed ‘A day with Orphan’ on Sunday at Masjid-ul-Ehsan here in Mangaluru.
As a part of the event, a free medical check-up camp for orphans and destitute kids from across the district was organised here.
Dr. NA Mohammed, Dr. Haris, Dr. Faheem, Dr. Shameema Hafeez, Dr. Jameela, Dr. Sameeruddin, Dr. Rizwan, Dr. Hafeez MA, Dr. Vijaya, Dr. Ashraf Ahmed, Dr. Abdul Razak of HECC and Nafisa Sireen, President of the Highland Islamic Forum, Sajid AK were present during the event as guests.
Over 300 male and female children from across the district reported for the medical check-up camp. Several competitions were also organised among the children as a part of the event.
The event began with the recitation of Holy Quran by Basith while the event was compered by Nazim SS who also presented vote of thanks.

Vitla: Vitla Sub-inspector Ramakrishna has seized a vehicle that was allegedly transporting cattle illegally at Karai of Kolnadu village in Bantwal taluk. Two men in the vehicle, identified as Naveen and Chethan of Mandya, have reportedly been subjected to police questioning.
Police sources have said that the SI saw a vehicle transporting two cows and parked by the road. When he questioned the driver Naveen and Chethan, who were in the vehicle, about the cattle, he was told by the duo that the cows belonged to one Shankar, a resident of Channarayapatna. The men also told the SI that Shankar was supplying the cattle to a man in Salettur, identified as Shafi, allegedly for beef production.
Further, Naveen and Chethan confessed before the officer that they had gotten the cattle transport permit in others’ names, the sources have added.
