Ilyas Muhammad Tumbe to contest as SDPI candidate from D.K Lok Sabha constituency

Mangaluru: State President of SDPI Ilyas Muhammad Tumbe has entered in the fray as party's candidate from Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency.
SDPI National Secretary Abdul Majeed Mysuru announced this at SDPI District Conference held at Nehru Maidan on Sunday.
SDPI district president Ataullah Jokatte presided over the function. SDPI national secretary Alfonso Franco, state unit President and constituency's candidate Ilyas Muhammad Tumbe, PFI state President Mohammad Shakib, Dalit activist BR Bhaskar Prasad, SDPI's state Vice President Puttanjaya, Advocate Majeed Khan, state general secretaries Abdul Hannan, Riyaz Farangipet, SDPI district Vice President Antony PD, district general secretary Shahul Hameed and others were present.

Maharashtra govt withdraws order to disburse Rs 10 crore for strengthening state Waqf Board
Mumbai (PTI): The Maharashtra government on Friday withdrew its order to disburse Rs 10 crore for strengthening the Maharashtra state Waqf Board, state chief secretary Sujata Saunik said.
The development comes a day after a government resolution (GR) was issued, in which the state administration ordered disbursal of Rs 10 crore funds for strengthening the state Waqf Board.
When asked whether the GR was withdrawn, Saunik confirmed the development.
As per the November 28 GR, Rs 20 crore were earmarked for 2024-25 for strengthening of the Maharashtra State Board of Waqfs (MSBW). Of that, Rs 2 crore were disbursed to the MSBW headquartered in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
