#‘No PM can damage Shariat’
Mangaluru, December 9: ‘All Muslims should be committed to protect Shariat. Till the Constitution, written by Dr BR Ambedkar, is in force, even if hundred prime ministers come, they could not do anything to Shariat. If such a situation arises, he will not only resign from his position, but also ready to sacrifice his life”, said district Minister UT Khader.
He was speaking at the ‘Shariat Protection Convention’, organized by the Samastha Shariat Protection Committee with a slogan of ‘Let us join hands for the protection of Constitutional rights. Drive back materialistic theory which destroys religion’, at the Shahid CM Abdulla Musliyar stage at the Nehru Stadium here on Sunday.
In his keynote address, Sammelan reception committee convener UK Abdul Azeez Darimi said that the Constitution has entitled the equal rights to the people of all religions to live according to their faiths. But in recent years, forces were active to destabilize the Constitution and interfere in religious aspects. Their demand was to protect the religion, Constitution and Culture. If the efforts were made to damage Shariat, the politicians of the community should be ready to sacrifice their power, he said.
‘Nanna mattu Vidyabhyasada Kathe’, an autobiography of Dakshina Kannada Khazi Shaheed CM Abdulla Musliyar, was released by Yenepoya University vice chancellor Yenepoya Abdulla Kunhi. The first copy of the book was received by CM Shafi, son of CM Abdulla Musliyar.
Before the stage programme, a rally was conducted from Ambedkar Circle to Nehru Maidan. Dakshina Kannada Khazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar flagged off the rally.

New Delhi: The Indian National Congress has condemned the joint US-Israel strikes that reportedly killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Saturday.
In a statement, the Congress said it “unequivocally condemns the targeted assassination” of the Iranian leader, describing it as “in a military strike carried out without a formal declaration of war.”
The party termed the development a serious escalation and raised concerns over the implications for regional stability.
Meanwhile, the Government of India has not issued any formal statement specifically on Khamenei’s reported killing so far.
On Saturday, the Narendra Modi government had expressed concern over the escalating tensions in the Middle East, as the United States, Israel and Iran exchanged missile strikes. However, it stopped short of directly commenting on the reports regarding the Iranian leader’s death.
India has traditionally maintained working relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran, alongside its ties with the United States and Israel. Further official reaction from New Delhi is awaited.
