Mangaluru: We are living in a dangerous situation where a message is being passed that one nation, religion, language, culture, food habit and custom must exist in a plural country where life leads by loving each other ; Retired Justice HN Nagmohan Das expressed concern.
He was speaking after inaugurating the fifth edition of Jananudi organised by Shantikiran Hall in Mangaluru.
Unconstitutional forces are trying to control the lives of people through a single culture. Plotting to destroy the plurality. It is dangerous that people in power are supporting them, he said.
Earlier, un-constitutional forces attacked Christians, Muslims, and Dalits. The people were silent. But now those forces have created panic by attacking the constitution. Our Constitution gives a lesson of tolerance but does not teach uncivilized trend of burning. So, these evil forces are trying to create anarchy by attacking the Constitution. Nagmohan Das expressed concern.
External pressure is also being imposed on the judiciary. Judgment should be issued in a particular way; if the verdict comes against their wishes, they threaten to disagree. Similarly, pressure is being built on Ayodhya issue as well, he said.
