In Dakshina Kannada's Bantwal, Muslims welcome 'Brahmaratha' by distributing soft drinks and sweets
Bantwal: At a time when the country is facing challenges from various factors to maintain peace and harmony among different cultures, communities and religions, people in Bantwal Taluk have set an example of peace and brotherhood among different communities.
In Bantwal Taluk, a Hindu religious chariot and rally ‘Brahmaratha’, organised by businessman Mutappa Rai and Ajith Shetty was welcomed by group of Muslims. The rally that began from Kadri and was heading towards BC road, was welcomed by Muslims who distributed water and sweets among devotees.
Hundreds of devotees who took part in the ‘Brahmaratha’ were left impressed by the gesture by the Muslims. The devotees lauded the effort by the community to spread the message of peace and harmony among the communities.

Fire breaks out at shopping mall in Hyderabad, no injuries
Hyderabad (PTI): A fire broke out at a shopping mall in Jubilee Hills area here on Thursday, though no one was injured in the incident, police and Fire department officials said.
The fire started at around 11.20 AM in the building, housing a saree showroom and other garment outlets, where renovation work was going on, they said, adding five workers, who were inside were brought out.
Three fire tenders were pressed into service and the blaze was extinguished. TV visuals showed flames erupting and thick smoke emanating from the exterior of the building.
"The building was vacant and there was no material inside. The fire has been brought under control. No one was injured in the incident," a fire department official said.
The exact cause of the blaze was under investigation, he said.
