Injured child in Uppala accident succumbs to injuries
Mangaluru, July 10: Five persons died and 12 others including children sustained severe injuries when a lorry collided the jeep in which they were travelling at Nayabazar near Uppala on National Highway 66 in the taluk on Monday. All the 12 injured were admitted to a private hospital and on Tuesday, a child succumbed to the injuries.
The one and half year-old child is identified as Fathima, daughter of deceased Nasima. Remaining 11 children were shifted to the wards and they were responding to the treatment and recuperating, doctors said.

US Consulate in Dubai reportedly attacked
Dubai: Smoke was seen rising from an area near the United States Consulate in Dubai, according to witness accounts cited by Reuters.
There was no immediate official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties in the incident.
Earlier, the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, was also attacked. Authorities reported damage to the premises, but no casualties were recorded.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran continuing to target US interests in the Middle East following deadly attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States.
