Karkala: A group of Bajrang Dal workers stopped a farmer who was carrying cattle for farming and handed him over to police here on Thursday night.
Shivu, a farmer from Bannalli village in Madduru taluk of Mandya district, had come to Mala in Karkala taluk to buy cattle for agriculture operations on Thursday afternoon.
He bought seven cattle from Nagaraj Poojary by paying Rs. 50,000. When he was returning to his native with the cows by a tempo, a group of 25-30 Bajrang Dal workers stopped him and called Karakala rural police.
The police rushed to the spot and seized the cattle, and took Shivu and tempo driver Prem Kumar to the police station. They later verified the documents related to cattle purchase and let Shivu go along with the cattle.
