Karwar: A II PU girl who was supposed to take board examinations from Friday, committed suicide on Thursday at Karwar.
The deceased has been identified as Lakshmi Netravati Gorkar (18), a resident of Mallapur village of Karwar Taluk.
Lakshmi, hanged herself in the kitchen of her house, when the parents were out for their daily wage work, police said.
The reason behind the suicide is said to be the academic pressure and Lakshmi’s non-preparedness for the board examination that were beginning on Friday.
A case has been registered at Mallapur police station.
