Kaup: Police hindered from discharging their duty
Kaup, July 10: Miscreants who were using drugs obstructed a police officer who has been to arrest them, from discharging his duty at Makara Flat in Mallaru village near here on July 9.
Acting on a tip-off, ASI Chandrashekar and staff went to the place where the accused were consuming liquor and when they were enquired, the accused abused the police officer and his staff. While Chandrakant Kotian (37), one of the accused, was taking to police station on motor bike, others Sachindra Poojary (35), Ashwith (26) and Leeladhar Anchan (60) stopped the bike of the police officer and pushed him down. Later, they took Chandrakant Kotian with them. A case has been registered at Kaup police station.

US Consulate in Dubai reportedly attacked
Dubai: Smoke was seen rising from an area near the United States Consulate in Dubai, according to witness accounts cited by Reuters.
There was no immediate official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties in the incident.
Earlier, the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, was also attacked. Authorities reported damage to the premises, but no casualties were recorded.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran continuing to target US interests in the Middle East following deadly attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States.
