Kumata: Collision between bus-lorry, five die on the spot
Karwar, July 07: As many as five persons killed on the spot in a collision between bus and lorry on NH 66 at Kumata on Saturday evening.
The accident, which occurred near the Panduranga Hotel on Kumta Highway, killed five persons and left several seriously injured.
According to the source, the accident took place when a lorry loaded with iron pillars hit a KSRTC bus. The pillars in the truck hit people sitting on the driver side of the bus and sustained severe injuries.
The dead bodies were removed with the help of police and locals. Injured passengers have been hospitalized. Police said that the identity of the deceased is not known yet.

US Consulate in Dubai reportedly attacked
Dubai: Smoke was seen rising from an area near the United States Consulate in Dubai, according to witness accounts cited by Reuters.
There was no immediate official confirmation on the extent of damage or whether there were any casualties in the incident.
Earlier, the US embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia’s capital, was also attacked. Authorities reported damage to the premises, but no casualties were recorded.
The developments come amid heightened tensions in the region, with Iran continuing to target US interests in the Middle East following deadly attacks launched on Saturday by Israel and the United States.
