Kundapur: Local police on Monday booked a person who had returned from Mumbai but reportedly violated the 14-day home quarantine order as many as 163 times.

Sahab Singh had returned on June 29 and was under home quarantine in a rented house near the Koteshwar Bypass. He was told to stay indoors till July 13, but he went out and roamed in Kundapur and Udupi taluks as many as 163 times, as noted by the GPS survey.

Flying squad officer N G Bhat complained of the matter to the Kundapur police, who registered a case and are investigating the matter.

Kalaburagi: A man was found dead, with his body seen hanging, in his own field in Hulasaguda village of Kalagi taluk on Saturday morning. The cause for death is unknown as yet.

The deceased, identified as Revanasiddhappa Shettappa (26), is learned to have been a resident of Hulasaguda village.

Ratkal Police Sub-inspector Sheela Devi reportedly visited the spot where the man’s body was found and inspected it.

Police have registered a case in this regard and are probing the death of the Shettappa.
