Udupi: In a major development, Udupi police on Saturday arrested on person who reportedly made a video claiming that a bomb blast will soon rock Malpe beach while also sloganeering ‘Pakistan Zindabad’ in the video. The video had gone viral in local circles.

The arrested has been identified as Srujan Poojari (18) a resident of Malpe.

In the video he reportedly made near the Malpe beach, he said that Malpe beach was their next target an a bomb blast will soon rock the beach.

A complaint was filed at Malpe Police station regarding the video. Police department swung into action and Udupi SP Nisha James and Additional SP Kumara Chandra formed an special team to trace the person in the video. The team was led by Dy.SP Jayashankar.

Reportedly, a Nepali man owning a shop at Malpe beach had circulated this video on WhatsApp. Police took him under custody. He later revealed that the Srujan Poojari made and sent him the video which he forwarded to other groups.

Police immediately arrested Poojary who later confessed about making the video.

However, in a statement after the arrest, police added that Poojary made the video in frustration of his family’s mental torture for not working at home.

 “Poojary was being scolded at home for not working, so out of frustration and to take revenge from his family he made the video near the beach” Udupi SP Nisha James told media reporters after the arrest.

The police have also seized a mobile phone and the towel used by Poojary to cover his face in the video.

Hyderabad (PTI): Nitish Kumar Reddy and Eshan Malinga shared five wickets between them as hosts Sunrisers Hyderabad defeated Chennai Super Kings by 10 runs in their IPL match here on Saturday.

Defending 195, Hyderabad restricted struggling CSK to 184 for eight. CSK have crashed to fourth defeat in six matches.

Abhishek Sharma (59) and Heinrich Klaasen (59) took CSK to 194 for nine with their splendid batting. For CSK, Jamie Overton and Anshul Kamboj picked up three wickets apiece while Mukesh Choudhary bagged two.
