Malpe: Two Bengaluru students drown at St. Mary's Island, body of one found
Udupi: Two students who had come to St. Mary's Island at Malpe in Udupi drowned on Monday afternoon. The body of one of the students was found, while search continued for the other.
The students have been identified as Satish M Nandihalli, a resident of Haveri and Satish S Kalyan, a resident of Bagalkote. Both were students of JKVK Agricultural University in Bengaluru.
Satish Nandihalli's dead body was found.
According to the reports, 65 students of the university had come to tour Udupi's St. Mary's Island on Monday when the incident took place.

CPI stalwart Nallakannu dead
Chennai (PTI): Veteran leader of the CPI, R Nallakannu died here on Wednesday, the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital said.
He was aged about 101, party sources said.
A hospital bulletin said, despite intensive care, he passed away at 1.55 PM on February 25, 2026 following failure of all vital organs.
