Davangere: Former minister M.P. Renukacharya launching a scathing attack on MP Dr. K. Sudhakar, stated that he lacks the moral standing to speak against former Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa and BJP state president B.Y. Vijayendra.

He accused Sudhakar of being an opportunist who joined the BJP solely for a ministerial position and not out of loyalty to the party.

Addressing reporters, Renukacharya labeled Sudhakar a "third-class politician" who remained inactive despite holding two portfolios in the BJP-led government.

He further criticized him for ignoring calls from MLAs while serving as a minister. "Because of my persistence, a 200-bed hospital was sanctioned for Honnali. When Yediyurappa was CM, a Jayadeva Hospital branch was announced for Davangere in the budget, but Sudhakar later canceled it," he alleged.

Holding Sudhakar responsible for the BJP’s electoral loss, Renukacharya warned him against making statements against Vijayendra. "We lost the elections due to leaders like Sudhakar. If he dares to speak against Vijayendra, he should be careful," he said.

Renukacharya also took a dig at MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal, suggesting that his fight should be directed at the Congress rather than Vijayendra. "If Yatnal has the strength, let him march in Kanakapura and Varuna instead of attacking our state president. Some leaders are speaking against Vijayendra, but they are only spitting at the sky—it won’t make any difference," he remarked.

Furthermore, he questioned Yatnal’s past association with the JD(S) and his participation in an Iftar gathering, sarcastically commenting that someone who once "fed biryani to everyone" cannot claim to be a true Hindu.
