Man kills brother, sister-in-law; commits suicide
Madikeri: A man shot dead his brother and sister-in-law before he shot himself at Kiggalu near Murnad near Madikeri on Saturday.
Utthappa Tammayya (65), a native of Kiggalu village shot his brother Devaiah (66) and his sister-in-law Prema Dechamma (53). Uttappa was taken to Madikeri district hospital but due to the ineffective treatment, he died.
It is learnt that the murders took place over a property dispute.
Madikeri Rural Police visited the spot and conducted the investigation.

Blast at unlicensed quarry in Raichur: One worker killed, one grievously injured
Raichur: A worker was killed and another sustained serious injuries in an explosion at a quarry situated in Makapur village of Lingasugur taluk in the district on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Venkatesh, who was a native of Bagalkot. The identity of the injured worker is yet to be ascertained.
It is also learned that mining in the quarry is being carried on without the permission of the Department of Mines and Geology.
Lingasugur Police officers have registered a case in this regard. The officers have visited the quarry as a part of the investigation.
