Mangaluru: Thirteen post offices in Mangaluru will be closed on July 20 after two staff members of the Postal Department tested positive for novel coronavirus.

Head Office at Pandeshwar, and post offices at Hampanakatte, Ashokanagar, Gandhinagar, Boluru, Koluru, Konchadi, Kavouru, Bejai, Kodialbail, Falnir, Fisheries College, Mangaluru collectorate, and SO Post Office will remain closed for public service on Monday, Mangaluru Postal Department senior superintendent Shri Harsh N Said.

Two staff of the Mangaluru head post office tested positive for COVID-19 on Saturday. As they were working in Cash Over section of the department, they had gone to various post offices in Mangaluru to handle cash transactions. As many as 13 post offices where they had visited have been sanitized and will be closed for a day on Monday.

Kalaburagi: A man was found dead, with his body seen hanging, in his own field in Hulasaguda village of Kalagi taluk on Saturday morning. The cause for death is unknown as yet.

The deceased, identified as Revanasiddhappa Shettappa (26), is learned to have been a resident of Hulasaguda village.

Ratkal Police Sub-inspector Sheela Devi reportedly visited the spot where the man’s body was found and inspected it.

Police have registered a case in this regard and are probing the death of the Shettappa.
