Mangaluru: 42-year-old woman on two-wheeler hit by tipper truck, dies
Mangaluru: In a tragic road accident a 42-year-old local woman died after sustaining serious injuries when she was hit by a tipper truck while riding her two-wheeler here on Kuntikana Highway on Wednesday evening.
The deceased woman has been identified as Priya Suvarna (42) a resident of Kavoor in Mangaluru.
According to the reports Priya was on her way towards KPT from her home when she was hit by a tipper truck. After the collision Priya fell on road and sustained severe injuries. She was rushed to local hospital immediately after the accident but she succumbed to her injuries due to excessive blood loss.
A case has been registered at Mangaluru West Traffic Police Station in this regard.

Yogish Goudar murder case: Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni, 16 others sentenced to life imprisonment

Bengaluru: A special court for people’s representatives has sentenced Congress MLA Vinay Kulkarni and 16 others to life imprisonment in connection with the murder of BJP leader Yogish Goudar.
The verdict was delivered by judge Santhosh Gajanana Bhat. The court had earlier, on Wednesday, held all 17 accused guilty of murdering Goudar, while reserving the quantum of punishment.
On Friday, the court pronounced the sentence, awarding life imprisonment to all the convicted persons in the case.
Yogish Goudar, a BJP member from the Hebballi Zilla Panchayat constituency in Dharwad district, was murdered in 2016.
