Mangaluru, July 18: The Mangaluru Arya Samaj has condemned the attack on Swami Agnivesh who has been toiling for the welfare of the tribal communities, by a team of youths in Jharkhand.

Speaking to reporters at the Arya Samaj here on Wednesday, Samaj president Dinakar Shetty said that the attack was systematically planned to tarnish the image of Swami Agnivesh who has been striving hard for the welfare of tribals, poor and backward classes in the society. The Swami Agnivesh has respected the mankind and been treating all equally. For no reason, he would become the anti-Hindu. But some miscreants have attacked on him which is an insult to the Hindu society, he said.

Both Jharkhand and the central governments should take legal action against the accused immediately. Swami Agnivesh should be given police protection. Such kind of inhuman attacks on an aged swamiji would not bring laurels to Hindus. All Arya Samajas in the country were called to protest this attack against the swamiji. If the governments failed to arrest the accused immediately, they would intensify their protest across the country, he warned.

Arya Samaj members Indranath, Deepak Manjeshwar, Dhananjay Arya, Harinakshi, Purohit Lokesh Thokkottu and others were present.

Protest in front of DC office on July 21

Condemning the attack on the swamiji and demanding the arrest of the accused, the Arya Samaj members would stage a protest in front of the deputy commissioner’s office here on July 21 at 11 am. A memorandum would be submitted to both Jharkhand and central governments. They would also prevail upon the central government to use Goonda Act against the accused, he said.

Bengaluru, Nov 1: ISRO on Friday said its analogue space mission has taken off at Leh in Ladakh, where it will simulate life in an interplanetary habitat as India prepares to send a human to the moon.

The initiative is a collaborative effort of the Human Spaceflight Centre, ISRO, AAKA Space Studio, University of Ladakh, IIT Bombay, and supported by Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council.

The month-long mission, kicked off mid-October, comes in the wake of India's plans to set up lunar habitats, which could provide a base to launch inter-planetary missions.

The geographical features of Ladakh are considered to closely resemble Martian and lunar landscapes and are an ideal training ground for scientific missions aimed at exploring planets "India's first analog space mission kicks off in Leh...this mission will simulate life in an interplanetary habitat to tackle the challenges of a base station beyond Earth," ISRO said in a post on X.

The team of AAKA Space Studio is testing environment suits and conducting geological studies in Leh's low-oxygen environment, simulating space-like conditions, studies that could be crucial for future space missions.

The team is also studying how the human body adapts to the harsh weather conditions in Ladakh that could be useful in understanding how astronauts could get used to space like conditions.
