Mangaluru: City Police Commissioner Shashi Kumar has said that Kadri Police officers have busted a racket of fake note circulation and arrested two men who were a part of the network.
The cops have arrested Nizamuddin alias Nizam (32), a resident of BC Road, and Razim alias Rafi (31) of Jeppu, and also confiscated fake notes of Rs 500 worth Rs 4.5 lakh, the commissioner told reporters at his office on Tuesday.
On Monday, the duo tried to escape with their baggage of fake notes, on seeing the police officers near Nanthoor Junction. When the cops arrested and questioned the duo, the presence of the fake note network came to light, said the officer.
Shashi Kumar also said that the accused had obtained the fake notes from Daniel of Bengaluru. The notes had been hidden in a scooter that was also used to circulate the fake notes.

Patna (PTI): Arif Mohammad Khan will be sworn in as the governor of Bihar at the Raj Bhavan here on Thursday, officials said.
The oath-taking ceremony is likely to be held around 11 am, they said.
Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar was recently appointed the governor of Kerala, while Khan, who served as the governor of Kerala, was moved to Bihar.
Khan, who arrived in Patna on Monday, had told reporters at the airport that he would try to discharge his duties in accordance with the glorious tradition of the state.
“I know the glorious history of Bihar. It has an impact on me. I will try to discharge my duties in accordance with the heritage and glorious tradition of the state,” he had said.
