Mangaluru: COVID restrictions further relaxed in Dakshina Kannada; shops to remain open till 5 pm
Mangaluru: Karnataka government on Thursday relaxed the COVID restrictions in Dakshina Kannada district after the number of cases in the district fell significantly in the last few days.
Starting July 2, people in the district will be allowed to go out till 5:00 pm in the evening to buy goods as the shops are now permitted to remain open till 5 pm.
The information was shared by DK DC Dr. KV Rajendra after the state government issued an order in this regard. Weekend curfew will however remain in place and Vegetable, meat, fish shops will remain open till 2 pm on weekends.

Leh-bound SpiceJet plane faces engine issue; returns to national capital
New Delhi (PTI): A Leh-bound SpiceJet aircraft returned to the national capital due to an engine issue on Tuesday morning, according to a source.
There were around 150 people on board the Boeing 737 aircraft that was operating the flight SG121, the source added.
When contacted, a SpiceJet spokesperson said a flight operating from Delhi to Leh on Tuesday returned to Delhi after experiencing a technical issue.
"The aircraft landed safely in Delhi, and all passengers were disembarked normally," the spokesperson said in a statement.
The source said the aircraft suffered an engine issue.
