Mangaluru: Father sent to 20 years imprisonment for raping minor daughter
Bantwal: A father on Tuesday was sentenced to 20 years of rigorous imprisonment by the Additional District and Sessions Court of Mangaluru after he was found guilty of raping his minor daughter. The court also penalized the accused with 25,000 rupees fine.
The accused identified as Abdul Azeez (70), a resident of Vital was charged under POCSO Act in March 2020.
Judge KM Radhakrishna after thoroughly examining the evidence submitted to the court passed the order on Tuesday and sentenced the accused.
The investigation of the case was led by Bantwal Circle Police Inspector TD Nagaraj.

Trump says suspect was armed with multiple weapons at WH correspondents' dinner
Washington (PTI): President Donald Trump is addressing reporters at the White House after he and other top leaders of the United States were evacuated from an annual dinner of White House correspondents on Saturday night after a shooting incident outside the ballroom.
Trump said the suspect was armed with multiple weapons before stopped by Secret Service. One officer was shot, but he was protected by a bulletproof vest.
“He was shot from very close distance with a very powerful gun, and the vest did the job,” Trump said.
