Mangaluru: Female King Cobra at the Pillikula Dr. Shivram Karant Biological Park gave birth to 38 King Cobras on Friday, July 8.

The Eight-year-old Female and 10-year-old Male King Cobra are the parents of the 38 newborn babies of King Cobra. The female King Cobra had laid eggs at the breeding center here. The eggs hatched 76 days after they were placed in the incubator.

In 2010-11, Pillikula Park created the record of breeding King Cobras in a protected environment for the first time in the world. 100 King Cobras eggs were hatched through artificial incubation. Three snakes laid 100 eggs. 35 of these cubs were sent to various zoos across the country under the animal exchange scheme while the other 65 were released in the wild.

There are currently 14 King Cobras in Pillikula Biological Park. Of which 9 are male and 5 are females.

The Guinness World Records (GWR) shared a video recently of the jaw-dropping moment on its social media platforms, captioning the clip, “Most electric fan blades stopped using the tongue in one minute 57 by Kranthi Drillman.” The clip shows Panikera deftly using his tongue to halt the spinning blades of the fans with astonishing speed.


Since being posted, the video has garnered over 17.9 million views on X (formerly known as Twitter) and sparked a wide range of reactions online, reflecting the mix of admiration and disbelief from viewers. One user wondered, “Is there training for something like this?” while another humorously commented, “So we just giving records out for anything now?”
