Mangaluru, May 24: A fire service personnel attached to the fire station at Kadri here died of coronavirus on Monday.

Six other personnel at the fire service station also turned out positive for Covid-19, fire service sources said.

They are under home isolation, the souces said.

The deceased is Naveen Chandra (54), a resident of Kotekar in Ullal near here.

He was admitted to hospital a few days ago, the sources said.

Puttur: A case has been registered at the local rural police station regarding the disappearance of a youth from the Keremule area of Kedambadi village in the taluk.

The missing individual, identified as Diwakara (38), is the son of Dr. Sankappa Pujari, a resident of Keremule. Diwakara, employed as a kitchen helper, reportedly left his residence on August 27 and has not returned since.

His uncle, Sitaram Pujari, has lodged a complaint with the rural police station, highlighting the additional concern that Diwakara's mobile phone has been switched off.
