Mangaluru, Jul 31: The health condition of senior Congress leader and Rajya Sabha MP Oscar Fernandes, who is under treatment at a private hospital in the city, is improving after he underwent a surgery to remove a clot in his brain, hospital sources said.
Oscar had undergone the surgery on Monday night and his health is getting better over the days, they said.
Fernandes was admitted to the hospital here after he suffered head injury due to a fall when practising Yoga at his home last week.
Senior Congress leaders including former Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, state Congress chief D K Shivakumar and BJP state president Nalin Kumar kateel MP had visited the 80- year-old Congress veteran in the past one week.

Bantwal: In a tragic incident that unfolded on Monday evening near Sri Shanmukha Subrahmanya temple in Shambhur, a young man fell into the Netravati river and lost his life.
The deceased, identified as Lohitashwa (30), hailed from Manjotti in Nada village, Belthangadi taluk.
Lohitashwa had accompanied four friends to Shambhur for a swim. While his friends proceeded to bathe in the river, Lohitashwa remained seated on the river bank.

Subsequently, he expressed his intention to return to the car. However, upon his friends' return from bathing, they could not find Lohitashwa near the car. Upon searching, they discovered him lying in the water.
Lohitashwa's body was found fully clothed, with a watch in his hand, suggesting he did not intend to enter the river for a swim. Further examination revealed head injuries consistent with a fall.
Inspector Shivakumar, who arrived at the scene, has initiated an investigation.
