In its quest to be the pioneer in skill development and learning along with being the education hub, the Indian Design School (IDS) is launching its latest venture in learning, knowledge sharing and skill training program – Master Class (MC) on Saturday 15th February 2020 at Ivory Enclave. Master Class is a series of short courses that focus on learning new skills in short time. The venture is headed by Ar. Mohammed Nissar (Chairman of IDS) with Dr. Nafeesa Shirin (Director of IDS) and Ar. Ramnath Nayak (Principal of IDS) as the planners of the different varieties of courses.
“In the busy world of today, everyone wants to learn new skills or realize their passion to a hobby but have no time due to their jobs, studies or household works. Joining full-time course requires one to spare at least a couple of years and is not possible due to prior commitments. Moreover, people can’t learn new skills from credible sources without disturbing existing routines nor its useful without a certificate of validity. With such hurdles in front of them, people often are unable to realize their passion and easily give up their desire to learn new skills” an official press release stated.
“This is the very reason for the launch of Master Class – to serve as a platform to learn new and variety of skills within a short time and without changing one’s schedule or routine. Master Class offers courses that range from a few days to a few weeks, covering all the necessary skills and techniques for fulfilling your passion or to be the entrepreneur of tomorrow. Currently Master Class offers five different types of courses – Culinary Arts, Calligraphy, Jewllery Design, Home Science and Home Décor & Furnishing. All the courses focus on practical learning so that one can learn more in less time. Plus, all the learners receive a certificate on completion of the course, giving validity to their skill. Master Class aims to provide high quality skills and classes to all people, irrespective of their age, profession or educational qualification” it further added.
The classes of MC are starting from Monday, 17th of February 2020, with Culinary arts as its first course which will be curated by the talented chef Shreya Shetty and will be conducted for an entire week. Pilibhit (PTI): A 19-day-old elephant calf, brought from Bijnor, was placed under care at the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve (PTR) on Sunday, an official said and added that the calf got separated from its mother in the forest area of Bijnor.
The calf was born on December 2 in the Bijnor forest area and got separated from its mother shortly after birth, the official said.
The forest department made several attempts to reunite it with its mother, but without any success. To ensure the calf's safety and better care, it was decided to transfer it to the Pilibhit Tiger Reserve on the instructions of senior officials.
On Saturday, Deputy Director Manish Singh received the calf. Special arrangements have been made in the reserve for its care. It has been kept in a safe and clean environment to provide it with a natural setting and protect it from external noise and disturbances.
Singh told reporters that raising an 19-day-old calf is challenging.
It requires a special diet as a substitute for mother's milk and constant monitoring.
He said a special team has been formed to provide 24-hour care. Since the calf is very young, it is being cared for like a newborn baby.
According to Singh, the primary responsibility for monitoring the calf's health has been entrusted to PTR's veterinarian, Dr Daksh Gangwar. Under his supervision, a complete record of the calf's health checkups, diet, and body temperature is being maintained. The team is ensuring that the calf does not contract any infection.
