Mangaluru: Inspector Mohammed Shareef suspended; here's why
Mangaluru: Inspector Mohammed Shareef has been suspended on Tuesday from Mangaluru North Traffic Police Station.
Reports said that the inspector was suspended for going on a foreign tour without consulting the higher authorities.
The inspector had applied leave earlier on 16 March, for a tour to Ajmer after which he had been to Dubai without consulting the DGP in advance. He reportedly arrived in Mangaluru on Monday, following which he has been suspended until further notice, police said.

Manipal: Two held within 11 hours in bike theft case
Manipal: The Manipal police arrested two accused within 11 hours of registering a bike theft case following a swift investigation.
The accused have been identified as Sharath (26) and Ganesh (31), residents of Netaji Nagar in 80 Badagabettu village.
According to police, a complaint was filed after a motorcycle belonging to Sudarshan was stolen on February 21. The bike had been parked near Veera Maruti Bhajana Mandir in Rahul Nagar, Badagabettu village.
According to the complaint, police traced and arrested the accused and recovered the stolen motorcycle from their possession. The duo was later produced before a court and remanded to judicial custody.
Police said over 11 theft cases have been registered against the accused at various police stations, including Manipal, Udupi City, Bhadravati, Koppa, Thirthahalli, Madikeri and Tumakuru.
Further investigation is under way.
