Mangaluru: 'Masjid One' a software, which has been developed by All India Muslim Development Council (AIMDC) to bring all masjids of the country on a single platform for comprehensive development of the Community , was launched at a function held at a private hotel here on Friday.

All India Muslim Development Council's D.K district unit was also officially announced during the programme.

Speaking at the occasion, Krishnapur Khazi EK Ibrahim Musliyar said after releasing the survey form that unity, co-operation among Muslims is essential to establish Islam on this earth. "We lack Imaan. Money Mania is increasing. This leads to misery," he said.

Presiding over the function, Council's D.K district unit president and prominent businessman Ahmed Mohiddin said, " Masjid is a parliament for Muslims. Masjid is not only for offering Namaz and other rituals. It is the center of empowerment of Muslims. Mosque's administration committee should have a comprehensive picture of the economic, educational, and social conditions of the Jamaat. Only then the overall development is possible," he added.

Mohammed Noor Yenmark,  General Secretary of District unit of AIMDC was present. Rafiq Master compered the event.

The National General Secretary of the Council, Mohammed Imtiyaz, presented a demonstration about 'Masjid One' software. He said, "Muslims have ruled India for about 800 years. However, today's status of Muslims here is miserable. According to a study conducted , out of the 18 crore Muslims in India, 10.6 crore Muslims live in Slums, he added.

The study also finds that 74.5% of Muslims live in North India and 25.5% in South India. The economic and social conditions of the Muslims of South India are better than Muslims in Northern India. The reason for this is that the Muslims in South India are advanced in education, he elaborated.

According to the Indian Muslim population ratio, 3 percent of Muslims are in IAS and IPS, 4.5 percent in Railways, 6 percent in Police Department. While 20.9 percent of population in prison and 25 percent of beggars are Muslims.

Shivamogga (Karnataka) (PTI): Three persons have been arrested in connection with cyber fraud cases involving more than Rs 82 crore and 352 complaints registered nationwide, police said here on Friday.

The accused have been booked by the cybercrime police station under Section 66(D) of the Information Technology Act and Sections 318(4) and 319(2) of the BNS.

According to Karnataka Police, the prime accused, 43-year-old Jagadish C, allegedly lured a complainant, Wilson, with a promise of commission and persuaded him to open a bank account.

Jagadish later took control of the account and, by impersonating the complainant, fraudulently transferred large sums of money, police said.

Jagadish, a resident of Sharadamma Compound in Sharavathi Nagar, Shivamogga, runs an electronics business, police said.

The other two accused have been identified as Arshad (39), a fish trader from Shankarpura in Chikkamagaluru, and Ananth T (34), a marketing professional from Hosamane in Shivamogga.

Police said 15 bank accounts used for illegal fund transfers have been frozen.

More than Rs 14.71 crore was routed through these accounts linked to over 352 fraud complaints registered nationwide.

The total cheating amount stood at Rs 82 crore, police said.

Two mobile phones, 11 ATM cards, nine QR code scanners and 15 Airtel SIM cards have been seized from the accused.

The trio was produced before a court, which remanded them to judicial custody, police said, adding that efforts are on to trace other absconding suspects.
