Mangaluru: Polling underway for MCC elections at 448 booths
Mangaluru: Voting for the election of Mangaluru City Corporation’s 60 wards went underway on Tuesday morning 7:00 am here in the city.
Dakshina Kannada MP and State President of BJP, Nalin Kumar Kateel also casted his voted in the early hours at St. Aloysius English Medium School near Ladyhill Church in the city.
MLA Vedavyas Kamath along with his family casted vote at Mannagudda’s Gandhinagar School while MLA Bharat Shetty casted vote near polling booth at KPT.
Other leaders including MLC Ivan D’Souza, former MLA JR Lobo and others also casted their vote at respective polling booth.
Polling in currently underway at 448 booths. Mannagudda’s Gandhinagar School has reported less turnout of voters so far.
Over 180 candidates from 60 wards and 27 parties are in the fray and are contesting the elections. The results of the elections will be announced on November 14.

Over 270 flights delayed, 10 cancelled at Delhi airport
New Delhi (PTI): At least 10 flights were cancelled and more than 270 flights were delayed at the Delhi airport due to fog and low visibility conditions on Tuesday.
An official said 6 arrivals and 4 departures have been cancelled for the day.

Over 270 flights have been delayed and the average delay time for departures is 29 minutes, as per information available on flight tracking website Flightradar24.com.
"Visibility at the airport is improving; however, flight departures for certain destinations may experience delay," Delhi airport operator DIAL said in a post on X.
The Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) in the national capital handles around 1,300 flight movements daily.
