Mangaluru: The Economic and Narcotics Crime Police on Wednesday raided and busted prostitution racket which was being operated from a private apartment near Nanthoor Junction. During the raid the cops arrested two people, allegedly the operators of the racket.

According to the reports the accused were using Locanto website for carrying out the illegal business to attract customers using two women from other states.

The arrested persons have been identified as Ivan Cyril Pinto (35), a resident of Modankapu in Bantwal Taluk and Satish Acharya of Mangaluru.

The officials added that cash amount of Rs. 23,500/- was seized from the apartment and the mobile phones of the accused were also seized.

Belthangady: The family of late Ramlan Ajhari rebuilt the house of the late Ramlan Ajhari in a program held by Dakshina Kannada District Janiyyatul Muallimin in the premises of Kajur Perdadi Ajmer Khaja Juma Mosque on Thursday. The handover was performed by Khazi Shaikhuna Twakha Ahmed of South Kannada District, Musliyar.

District Janiyyatul Muallimeen President Shansuddin Darimi Pammale Madannur presided over the function. District Janiyatul Muallimeen Secretary Muhammad Navi Mundole welcomed the guests. On this occasion, Engineer Muhammad Twahir Bangerakatte was honored for building a neat house.
