Mangaluru: CCB Police on Saturday arrested rowdy-sheeter Vikyath alias Vikki of Kavoor (28) and his wife Anjana (21) on charges of selling drugs. They were reportedly involved in supplying Ganja to college students and locals in the city.
The CCB Police after receiving credible information on the couple’s activities raided their house at Shankar Nagar’s KC Alva Layout. The raid was led by CCB Inspector Mahesh Prasad and ASI Rajendra B.
The police seized 2.2 KGs of Ganja worth 22000 rupees, a mobile phone, 1500 rupees cash, and one digital weighing machine from the accused during the raid.
The police have suspected the involvement of more individuals in the racket and said they were further investigating the matter.
Both the accused tested positive for using drugs in the medical examination. Vicky has 12 cases registered against him at Mangaluru South, North, Barke, Urwa, Rural, and Kankanady Police stations in the city. The cases include charges of assault, attempt to murder, threatening, and kidnapping.
Cases against Anjan include assault, and an attempt to murder at Kankanady and Mangaluru South police stations. The police later added that the duo was selling drugs to college students in the city at MG Road, KPT, and Jeppu among other places.

Colombo (PTI): Rachin Ravindra claimed 4/27 as New Zealand crushed Sri Lanka by 61 runs in their Group 2 Super Eights clash of the T20 World Cup here on Wednesday.
With the win, New Zealand took a big step towards the semifinals. Sri Lanka were knocked out, though they still have one match to play.
Chasing 169, Sri Lanka made a terrible start to crawl to 20 for two in the powerplay and failed to gain any momentum.
Ravindra then ran through the brittle Lankan middle order to help the Kiwis limit the co-hosts for a paltry 107/8.
Earlier, skipper Mitchell Santner (47) and Cole McConchie (31 not out) led New Zealand's fightback after middle-order collapse as the Kiwis posted 168/7.
New Zealand suffered a batting collapse as they slipped from 75/2 to 84/6 during which they also lost three wickets without adding a run.
