Mangaluru: Schedules of at least six flights at Mangaluru International Airport were forced to be altered on Friday in the wake of heavy rain in Dakshina Kannada District.

Schedules of Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Dubai, Doha, Dammam bound flight from Mangaluru Airport have been rescheduled, airport officials informed.

All the schools and colleges in the District have also been declared holiday due to rain.

Bengaluru: Distancing from Eknath Shinde’s “toppling Karnataka Congress government post general elections,” remark, state BJP President BY Vijayendra claimed, “ We are happy as opposition party, and are fulfilling all the responsibilities as the opposition party should do. We are not attempting to topple the Congress government for any reason. I don't have any information regarding Shinde’s statement.”

Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s during a campaign event in Satara reportedly stated that as Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) government was toppled in Maharashtra, likewise “Operation Kamala” will be done in Karnataka post Lok Sabha elections.

Meanwhile Vijayendra further clarified that, "there is no question of us doing any kind of operation. However, Lok Sabha election results can have any impact in the state. Its effect can be anything. We are not responsible for that.”

“I am not aware of what Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde has said about the fall of the Congress government in Karnataka. After the Lok Sabha election results, I will not say what kind of upheaval will happen in the Congress party,” he added.
