On August 31, a case was registered at Suratkal police station against Ghandi Riaz in connection with a disturbance in Kalwar. A peace meeting was convened by Suratkal police in Kalwar on September 3 to address the matter. The accused summoned Abdul Safwan to discuss the incident. Consequently, Abdul Safwan, accompanied by his friend Muhammad Safwan, was riding a motorcycle near the Kalawaru bus stand around 7:30 pm when the suspects Prashant and Dhanraj from the opposite direction intercepted them on their motorcycle and verbally confronted them. Prashantha Dragar, one of the suspects, stabbed the victim in the right armpit.
Kalavaru Ganesh stabbed Safwan's right arm with a knife, while Yajnesha stabbed him in the back. Puneet, Babbu Ganesh, Pradeep, and other accomplices began beating Safwan's friend, Muhammad Safwan, who attempted to intervene and assist. They restrained him forcibly. In his complaint, the victim, Abdul Safwan, stated that when a crowd began to gather, the suspects threatened to kill them and fled the scene.
As a result of the incident, Abdul Safwan sustained injuries to his right armpit, eye, back, and right arm.
The police have indicated that the attack was motivated by suspicions that Abdul Safwan had collaborated with Ghandi Riaz during the disturbance in Kalawar on August 31.
